What is Giving Tuesday?
We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. Each year, on the Tuesday immediately following Thanksgiving, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and athletes around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
It’s a simple idea. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity during our weeklong campaign.
Where are we shining a light?
Today we shine a light on the Breaking Down Barriers and Building Bridges Across Communities pillar. After learning about the root causes and hearing the statistics, it became clear we needed to have an impact. The mission of this group is to identify, expose, and help alleviate racial barriers that exist between communities through systemic, institutional, interpersonal and internalized bias.
Top Pillar Priorities
Further development and expansion of The Playbook Initiative, our dialogue-based anti-discrimination and bias prevention curriculum
Cultivate event calendar around important cultural celebrations and holidays
Recognize disparities in services and identify ways we can work to fill those gaps
Help support the efforts of all pillars with a gift to the campaign today.
